Jen Schoepke is the Director of Strategic Diversity Planning, Research, and Communication in the Letters & Science Center for Academic Excellence. In her role, Jen facilitates the continued development of CAE’s strategic framework, assessment, and communication strategies, and research to advance CAE’s mission. Jen was previously employed in the Office of Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Student Success at UW System Administration, where as an Academic Planner she worked on a variety of system-wide equity, diversity, and inclusion programmatic and capacity-building activities across all UW System institutions, such as Inclusive Excellence. Prior to her work at UWSA, Jen was a postdoctoral researcher at UW-Madison in CALS, and earned her Masters' in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and doctoral degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering at UW-Madison. Both her doctoral research and postdoctoral research focused on issues of whiteness and race and their impact on equity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) higher education, specifically as it relates to the diversification of STEM faculty. Jen obtained her undergraduate degree in physics/mathematics secondary education at UW-Eau Claire. She lives in Fitchburg with her husband and their twin boys.
