Mai Neng is a graduate student in the Educational Policy Studies program with a broad research interest in the educational experiences of immigrant and refugee students. More specifically, she is interested in understanding how race, ethnicity, gender, and class intersect to inform the lives and experiences of Hmoob American students and their families. She joined the Summer Collegiate Experience as a graduate program coordinator in June 2014. The summer prior to that, she worked with SCE as a graduate house fellow. She has really enjoyed getting to know students and learning from and with them. When she is able to get some down time, she likes to bake, knit, and craft (DIY). She also enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
