Amihan Huesmann

Amihan works to support CAE students and academic mentors on their UW–Madison journeys. They come to CAE after previous lives as a professor, an academic advisor, and a learning center instructor. Amihan’s favorite thing about working with students in CAE is how we all support all of our students as a team, from before SOAR all the way through graduation.

When they are not working, Amihan can usually be found in the garden, reading a book, snuggling with or photographing their rescue cats (usually with consent), dyeing or sewing fabric, or doing something with food (reading about, making, or eating). She’s lived in various countries in Africa and the Middle East but somehow can speak only one language other than English. Amihan’s academic interests are mostly in the physical sciences, particularly atmospheric.
