CAE Early Arrival Week

We’re excited to welcome you to campus, CAE Scholars! As a reminder, we are expecting you to move to your on-campus residence hall on this Sunday, August 24 and then engage with us all week before starting classes on Wednesday, Sept. 3. The programming is designed to be useful and fun and includes an official welcome to CAE and to campus as well as activities to connect you with staff, faculty, peer mentors and other new students.

CAE students are expected to participate and attend all Early Arrival activities unless otherwise noted. Please familiarize yourself with the schedule and email your CAE advisor if you have any questions, concerns, or any potential scheduling conflicts.

Incoming scholars are also encouraged to participate in Wisconsin Welcome events of interest.

The university continues to support the public health of our campus community. While there are no COVID-19-specific requirements for mask use, testing, or vaccination, everyone on campus is strongly encouraged to use these tools as needed to limit the spread of the virus. Please note that the early arrival schedule may change or be adjusted to accommodate any change in the public-health situation. If you have any health and/or safety concerns, speak with your CAE advisor so we can accommodate you. Keep an eye on your email for updates and information.

Early Arrival Schedule

CAE Early Arrival Week Schedule
All CAE Scholars should arrive 15 minutes before the start of each session to check-in and get settled. To check-in, we will scan your Wiscard. Please remember to bring it each day. If you’ve not yet gotten your Wiscard on Monday, there is space in the schedule to do so as soon as possible.

Many Early Arrival activities will take place in Gordon Dining and Event Center (Gordon), A map for Gordon and a few other locations are to the right; for all other locations, we suggest using the UW-Madison campus map.

Early Arrival activities are planned to help you establish a strong foundation to your success at UW! We expect that you will attend and fully participate each day. We will also raffle off CAE and UW-items each day, including tickets to Badger football game. You MUST be present to win.
