CAE Assistant Deans take turns serving as Dean on Call. Assistant Deans are available to take emails during open hours. They are available to help students or advise with the L&S academic policy, answer degree progress questions, and anything related to the process of graduation.
Scope of Services
Deans can be helpful in addressing many different situations, and referring to resources.
The Dean on Call can also provide Dean’s actions and may consult with the student’s assigned advisor. These collaborative sessions may require a longer time or follow-up appointment on that Dean’s schedule.
Please be prepared to share the following information:
- Name
- I.D. number
- phone number where you can be reached
- wisc.email address
Here are some examples of Dean-on-Call inquiries:
- Deadlines for adding or dropping classes
- Implications for taking classes on a pass/fail basis
- Requests for a Foreign Language substitution
- Requests for concurrent enrollment
- Questions about the L&S probation and drop system
- Questions about summer enrollment at another college or university and transferring courses to UW-Madison
